""A story assembled from everyday objects, unassumingly and quietly, that stuns and horrifies by increments...The Canal may look, at first glance, like a love story, but it harnesses the power of parable." John Wray, author of Lowboy.

Ellis Sharp . . .
As Ellis mentions on his recent blog entry, we bumped into each other at the weekend. I was walking back from the newsagents and Ellis was off on his bike. We talked about pylons and his latest book.
Funny that video of me on his blog; it was filmed by my good, good friend and younger brother Matthew Coleman in my old flat. I look scruffy. And fat. I was drinking heavily in that period of my life. But I still love pigeons all the same.
Also, check out Ellis' Wiki page and his letter to Nicholas Lezard (scroll down a couple).
